🍕 Pizza night at Stonesthrow 🍕

There’s something about making your own pizza on holiday that just feels like part of the fun.

And we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible.

You can bring your own ingredients and create your own masterpiece, or choose one of our pizza kits:

🍕 The easy option — ready-made bases and everything you need for a quick, fuss-free pizza night.

🍕 The proper pizza option — make your own dough, stretch it, top it and cook it fresh in the pizza oven.

We provide the cheese and a selection of classic toppings, or you can bring your own favourites.

And then there’s the finishing kit…

🌿 Herbs
🫒 Oils
🍅 Sauces
🪵 Bamboo boards for building and cutting

So all you really need to do is decide what goes on top.

Then fire up the oven, pour a drink, get everyone involved and enjoy your own little pizza night in the courtyard. 🍷🔥

And afterwards?

The fire will be glowing, the bath is waiting and the sofa is calling…

🍂 And just like that… it’s September. 🍂

Summer has disappeared, the evenings are starting to feel a little cosier and suddenly a little midweek escape sounds rather lovely.

So, because we have a little September availability, I’m opening up some one night stays this week:

✨ Wednesday 2nd or Thursday 3rd — 1 night £250

Or

✨ Two-night break Wed/Thurs — £320

For the whole house, sleeping up to 6 people but also perfect for 2.

And yes… 🐕 dogs stay completely free and we are very welcoming.

Come for a night, explore Leek and the Peak District, have a pizza night in the courtyard, then finish the evening with the fire glowing and the roll-top bath waiting. 🔥🍕

I may also be able to accommodate tonight for a spontaneous last-minute escape — just message me to ask.

🍂 What does a perfect autumn day in Leek look like?

Start slowly. Coffee in hand, a wander through Leek’s market and independent shops, perhaps stopping for something delicious along the way.

Then head out into the countryside. Crisp air, golden leaves, muddy paws and those views that remind you why you came to the Peak District in the first place. 🥾🐕

Back to Stonesthrow in the afternoon to warm up, put the kettle on and sink into the sofa.

Then comes the difficult decision…

🍕 Pizza from the oven in the courtyard?
🍺 A wander into town for dinner and a drink?
🔥 Or simply light the fire, run the roll-top bath and settle in for the evening?

🍂 And just like that… August is nearly over. 🍂

The evenings are beginning to draw in, the first hints of autumn are appearing, and somehow we’re already thinking about cosy jumpers, woodland walks and evenings by the fire. 🔥

Which, if you ask me, is a very good time to start planning a little escape. 🍁

At Stonesthrow Townhouse, autumn means:

Thank you so much for the lovely review. We completely agree with you that Leek should be better marketed. It doesn't have the might of Marketing Derby that the Derby Peak District towns have. Glad it worked so well for you and we'd love you to come back and try out the Pizza Oven 🍕
