Glorious morning on Stanage Edge yesterday. We ditched the running and took binoculars instead and were rewarded with several sightings of the very special Ring Ouzel, a Winchat and a not so rare but beautiful Kestrel.

We have a bank holiday weekend approaching and due to a cancellation delightful Dalemore Cottage is available for a spring get away in the Peak District.

Dalemore Cottage has two bedrooms, one king, one twin, a shower room and a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, wood burner in the living room and a dinning room which opens up to over look the brook running though the garden.
We are situated in the village of Butterton, walking distance to the award winning Black Lion pub and a slightly longer walk to Thors Cave. We welcome dogs.

After a glorious walk in the hills this morning, I’ve been experimenting with some new items for our menu, today we’ve road tested my take on traditional Staffordshire lobby, basically a hearty lamb and root vegetable stew, with a couple of secret additions and some delicious herby dumplings.

Can’t resist a snow picture. Up and out early yesterday for a dawn walk down Dovedale to beat the crowds, then up and over Bunster Hill 7.5 miles of sunny snowy joy.
