We have installed Starlink for our guests!! The alpacas think it’s for them. 🦙

Now they’ve discovered Alpacaflix, nobody’s getting the remote back. 🤣

Hollydale has gone from around 10 Mbps to speeds of up to 400 Mbps, with Starlink now serving all our cottages.

That means faster downloads, smoother streaming and fewer arguments when everyone wants to get online. Perfect for a film after the hot tub, keeping the children entertained or catching up with work between countryside walks.

Fergus update! 🧡 Our little Highland lad is getting bigger by the day, with a LOT more personality to match. He's cheeky, curious about everything, and still can't resist a good head scratch. Cuteness overload doesn't even cover it!

A little update from the Hollydale family 💜

Sadly, we recently lost two of our wallabies. 😢

Wallabies are social animals that live in groups called mobs, so it wouldn't have been fair to keep our remaining girl here on her own.

We're happy to share that we've found her a lovely new home, where she's settling in really well with her new mob and making plenty of friends.

We'll miss seeing them hopping around, but we're excited to tell you that something new is coming to their space very soon, and it's a brand new feature for our guests to enjoy. Watch this space for the big reveal! x

Here we go again... 🎶 Our herd has us singing! 🦙🐴🐮

Animals really are the best therapy.

Studies show that just a few minutes with animals can lower cortisol (the stress hormone), boost feel-good oxytocin, serotonin and dopamine, and even help bring your blood pressure down. Basically, alpaca cuddles are science 💜

You don't need to be staying with us to enjoy it. Anyone can book a Hollydale Animal Experience: get up close with our alpacas, donkeys and Highland cows, meet our newest arrival Fergus, and enjoy light refreshments while you're here.

Our beautiful Parlour Barn has officially been shortlisted for ROUND 2 of the Visit Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Tourism Awards 2027!

For those who have followed our journey, you’ll know that Parlour Barn is no stranger to winning awards. In fact, we believe it to be the most highly awarded individual property within the Sykes Holiday Cottages portfolio!

To say we weren’t expecting this would be an understatement!

We are absolutely chuffed to bits. ❤️

We have poured so much time, money, hard work and love into making Parlour Barn something truly special. We never wanted to create just another holiday cottage. We wanted to create somewhere that guests would remember, somewhere that offered something different and somewhere that people would want to return to year after year.

To see Parlour Barn recognised time and time again, across so many different award categories, is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Four Sykes awards, three consecutive award-winning years, and now shortlisted for Round 2 of the Staffordshire Tourism Awards 2027!

We genuinely couldn’t be prouder of what this little barn has achieved.

Of course, we’re not finalists just yet! The next stage involves welcoming the judges to Parlour Barn, with finalists being announced in January 2027.

But whatever happens next, just getting this far is an achievement we’re absolutely delighted with.

This year Hollydale House has been almost 100% booked, with guests reserving months in advance. Some months next year are already full, and over half of our 2027 bookings come from guests who are returning. That tells you everything about why Hollydale is our signature property.
