Highcross Lodge No.4835 – Centenary Celebration
Last night, Highcross Lodge No.4835 met at Freemasons’ Hall Leicester to celebrate 100 years since its consecration. The Provincial Grand Master, Peter Kinder, led a full Provincial team and took the Chair for part of the meeting.
Over 90 members and guests enjoyed a superb festive board, with a menu inspired by the original meal from 1924, complete with a modern twist, and at the same time raising ovr £500 for charity.

A lovely afternoon at Devonshire Court Care Home as Peter Kinder officially opened the new wheelchair‑accessible greenhouse. Built by Phil Kent and his team, and funded through generous donations by, and in the memory of Michael Herbert, Derick Marston and Edna Searson, it will give residents the chance to enjoy gardening all year round. A wonderful project that brings joy to many.

Wyggeston Lodge is delighted to welcome Dr Richard Buckley OBE, former Director of University of Leicester Archaeological Services, for a fascinating first-hand account of one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 21st century.

Drawing on his distinguished career at the University of Leicester, Dr Buckley will recount the remarkable story behind the search for and discovery of the remains of King Richard III, hidden beneath a Leicester city-centre car park for over 500 years. His lecture will provide a unique insight into the excavation, identification, and worldwide impact of this extraordinary find.
