We’re proud to share that the Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons Charity has now completed its £20,000 Platinum Pledge to national children’s charity Lifelites Org funding life‑changing sensory and assistive technology for seriously ill children at Rainbows Hospice.

From the Magic Carpet and sensory PODS to Eyegaze, Soundbeam and virtual reality, this equipment helps more than 750 children every year to play, communicate and make precious memories with their families.

Huge congratulations to Marc Shackleton of Vale of Catmos Lodge No.1265, who has completed the 148‑mile Viking Way and raised an amazing £1,093 for the Rutland Rotaract Family Support Centre! An incredible effort in scorching heat and tough terrain. Well done, Marc!

Supporting Local Healthcare. Members of Hastings Lodge No. 8695 proudly presented £1,200 to the Renal Unit at Derby Royal Infirmary, helping patients who rely on dialysis treatment. The donation forms part of the Lodge’s ongoing support for the hospital’s renal appeal, a cause close to the hearts of several members. 💙

The Lord Mayor of Leicester, Cllr Kulwinder Singh Johal, visited Freemasons’ Hall Leicester this week to learn more about our charitable initiatives and explore the heritage of our London Road building.
During the visit, the Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons’ Charity was pleased to present £2,500 in support of the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities for 2026–27: Leicester Hospitals Charity and Midland Langar Seva Society (MLSS).

In May, Rev’d Clive Watts of Grace Dieu Lodge travelled to Manila with The Streetlight Trust to support some of the most vulnerable street children in the city.
Thanks to the £625 raised by the Lodge, Clive was able to buy four new guitars, amplifiers and accessories, and fund a guitar teacher for six months at one of Kanlungan’s children’s homes.
Clive has now raised over £5,000 for the charity in the last year, helping provide food, education, healthcare and safe accommodation for children who need it most.
