As we head into Autumn we asked our woodburner specialist to test out the fires in The Coach House and Barn. Ninja has given them both top marks and recommends them for cosy evenings warming your paws!!

We always planned to have a little bunk bed room in The Coach House and now we do! Eddie has made the most of the space to make a tiered bunk in ash, built around drawers for storage.
The Coach House now sleeps 6, with two doubles and the bunk beds, and has two bathrooms. Along with The Barn next door, a party of 10 can comfortably stay at Hoods Croft!

Some of our guests have been asking us about the joinery in both The Coach House and Barn. There is a contemporary plywood cabinetry theme, and ash worktops for the breakfast bar, window sills and bathroom vanity units. All have been made at Hoods Croft by Eddie with strong design input from Sophie!

The Coach House has a lovely private courtyard garden designed by Kathryn Cox. It really is a suntrap and perfect for relaxing evenings. Connected to the Barn garden, it is a gathering point when guests take both The Barn and the Coach House. .studio

Three years ago, when we started to rebuild our barn, we put up an owl box in the field behind our house. Last year there was some activity but I never got a snap of the resident. This year she is appearing like clockwork, dawn and dusk. The box already needs a bit of repair, but she doesn’t seem to mind!!
