Meet Anni Townend, creator & founder of The Grain Store ✨
“My favourite detail has to be the concrete structure of the building – the original ribs, the huge iron bolts, and the way the window doors are framed by it all.”
When Anni created The Grain Store, she wanted every decision to honour the building’s history. The original concrete frame became the inspiration for the entire space, shaping a design that feels both grounded and connected to the landscape beyond.
Outside, the details continue. The willow hedge was carefully shaped to mirror the curves of the South Downs, while the grasses and trees were chosen to reflect the movement of the surrounding countryside.
“Most of all, I love sharing it with others and creating a place where people can simply sit, stand, breathe and be.”
From the first glimpse of the Downs through the window doors to a quiet moment in the orchard, every corner of The Grain Store has been designed with care, intention and a deep connection to place. 🌿
