The views might be one of the first things you notice when you arrive at Street Head…but we know the practical bits matter just as much when you’re staying on a campsite!

Clean, modern shower and toilet facilities, electric hook-ups, washing-up facilities and a fridge and freezer for food and ice packs, all those little things that make life on site a bit easier.

Nothing complicated. Just a site that’s looked after and has what you need so you can get on with enjoying your stay. 💚

If you had a completely free autumn day in the Yorkshire Dales, how would you choose to spend your time?

🥾 A long walk?
🍺 A trip to the pub?
🚗 A drive through the Dales with a few stops along the way?
☕ A wander around Hawes and somewhere for coffee and cake?
🌿 Or absolutely no plans whatsoever?

Sometimes getting away doesn’t need a packed itinerary, just being somewhere different for a couple of days is enough.

While things gradually start winding down on the main site, there’s one part of Street Head that doesn’t close for winter…Our Bunkhouse accommodation is available all year round. 💚

It’s a great option for walking groups, cycling weekends, family get-togethers or simply a group of friends wanting a few days together in the Dales.

There’s something lovely about the Dales at this time of year.
The colours are changing, the mornings have that proper autumn chill to them, and everything starts to feel just a little bit quieter.

We’ve still got a few weeks left of our main season here at Street Head, with the touring site open until 31st October, so there’s still time for an autumn trip before the season comes to an end.

Walking boots, an extra layer and perhaps a pub stop somewhere along the way sounds about right to us!

We might be heading into the final month of our main season, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the Dales before we close for touring at the end of the month.

There are still just over four weeks left to enjoy everything Street Head has to offer before our main season finishes on 31st October.

So if you fancy an autumn break in the Dales, there’s still time to squeeze one in...cooler walks, changing colours, quieter roads and, hopefully, a few crisp sunny days thrown in too.

Our Bunkhouse is available all year round, so groups can continue to stay with us right through autumn, winter and beyond.

And a little heads-up, if you’re thinking about getting something booked, our prices are due to increase during December, so bookings made before then can still take advantage of our current rates.

So whether it’s one last stay before the season ends or a Bunkhouse break later in the year, now’s a good time to get it in the diary.

As we head towards the quieter part of the year, life at Street Head changes a little.

There are fewer arrivals and departures, which gives us more time to get stuck into jobs around the site, make improvements and think about what we might want to do next.

And that got us thinking…what takes a campsite from “that was nice” to “we’re definitely coming back”?

Is it the spotless facilities?
A peaceful location?
A friendly welcome?
Great walks nearby?
A good pub within reach?
Beautiful views?
Being able to bring the dog?
Or is it something completely different?

If you’ve stayed with us, or you’re a seasoned camper, caravanner or motorhomer, we’d genuinely love to know what matters most to you.

Your answers might just make our off season to do list that bit longer! 😊
