We offer 14 en-suite rooms, a relaxed bar and restaurant and good quality home cooked food. We pride ourselves on our high standards of service and value and the ales and hospitality that we offer. The Wheatsheaf is where, in 1941, James Herriott and his wife Helen spent their honeymoon. In his book he describes how much they enjoyed the warm hospitality and excellent food, as our guests do today.

The Immediate area is one of outstanding natural beauty with Aysgarth waterfalls just a short walk away. Castle Bolton, where Mary Queen of Scots was held prisoner in 1568 is just three miles away.
