A very busy and productive weekend, yields good results in the Cookery and crafts ☺️ at the Askrigg Village Produce Show. Thank you to Heather & Grouse and Ramsay's Fish and Chip Van, I shall be redeeming my vouchers very soon.

Wow, what a busy weekend! ☀️

One of the things we love most about living here is having so much to see and do right on our doorstep. But, like everyone, we can get caught up in the day-to-day and sometimes forget to slow down and appreciate it all.

Having family to stay is the perfect reminder to get out and enjoy the beautiful walks, welcoming pubs, and wonderful local attractions that make this corner of the Yorkshire Dales so special.

This weekend we've:
🥐Enjoyed breakfast and tea on the terrace
🥾 Enjoyed some lovely local walks.
🥪 Had lunch at The Bake-Well, Market Place in Askrigg.
🍽️ Enjoyed a delicious dinner at The CB Inn, Arkengarthdale – we can highly recommend it!
🌳 Spent the day exploring Thorp Perrow Arboretum Wildlife Park, where the birds of prey display was an absolute highlight – it was fantastic! Didn't know they had Meerkats, Wallabies and Pygmy goats too!

We'd thoroughly recommend both the CB Inn and Thorp Perrow Arboretum, and we're already planning another visit later this year to see the beautiful autumn colours.

After a busy week at my day job, mostly spent indoors, there's nothing better than an evening walk to recharge.

I'm so grateful to live in such a beautiful part of the countryside. At this time of year, the wildflower meadows are simply stunning, full of colour, buzzing with bees, and a reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things.

These are just a few photos from this evening's walk. It's moments like these that make this place so special, and one of the many reasons our guests love staying here too. 🌼🌿💛
