Here at Muswell Manor we offer B&B. We have a family size room for you and the children we do ask that all children, are over the age of 10 to have a weekend by the sea. Two double rooms can be offered perfectly ideal for walkers, cyclist or couples weekend away or an adventure of your own. Take a look inside our pub, filled with historic aviation charm and beverages to quench your thirst. Our b**r garden offers country side views and a cool breeze from the sea. We are a dog friendly garden, and with our surrounding areas with loads of fantastic walks for you and mans best friend. For those cooler days we have our lovely conservatory available so you can still enjoy those country side views. Inside is a pub full of aviation history that happened here at Muswell Manor! plenty of drinks and pub snacks and food.
open Friday evening to Sunday afternoon and bank holidays everyone is welcome!!!

Muswell Manor is a 16th Century Grade II listed manor house steeped in history, most notably being the site where the earliest aviators performed their first flights. Names such as The Short Brother, Charles Rolls, Frank McClean, Maurice Egerton, John Moore-Brabazon, amongst other founding members of the World's First Aero Club. Which was to be where they practiced their aviation skills on a stretch of marshland Shell Beach near Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey in early 1909 farmhouse Muswell Manor (which they referred to Mussel Manor) as their clubhouse and also dinned and slept in the building.
The Short brothers were some of the occupants of the grounds and they acquired a license to build copies of the Wright brothers (from America) aircraft and set up one of the World's first aircraft production lines at this very site in Leysdown.
On 2nd May 1909 John Moore-Brabazon (later Lord Brabazon of Tara) made a flight of 500 yards in his Voisin at nearby Shellbeach, this is officially recognised as the first flight by a British pilot in Britain and where he took up a pig appropriately named Icarus II as on the 5th November 1909 and this was advertised in the Daily Mirror.
On the 2nd May 1909 the Wright Brothers visited the Aero Club flying ground at Shellness Road Leysdown. After they inspected the Short Brothers Worlds first factory making aeroplane's a photograph was taken in front of the clubhouse door of Mussel Manor of the Wright Brothers with of the early British aviation pioneers to commemorate their visit to Britain. This very photograph hangs above the fireplace in the pub in Muswell Manor (formerly the clubhouse of the Aero Club) and is the only photograph known to exist of all of the early aviators together. Many more Worlds first was achieved within the grounds which can be found and logged in the Guinness Book of records.
