From this… to this ❤️

Before we renovated Cissy’s thatched cottage, we knew there were some things we simply couldn’t lose. These old fireplaces were two of them.

😍We wanted to keep as much of the original character and history of the cottage as possible, while making it comfortable, warm and safe for today’s guests.😍

So rather than replacing the old with something shiny and new, we worked around what was already there — keeping the traditional fireplace and its character, while carefully bringing it up to modern standards.

Because that’s what Cissy’s is all about.

Old charm, with modern comforts. 🏡✨

And on a cold winter evening, there’s nowhere quite like sitting beside that fire with a cuppa, a blanket and absolutely nowhere you need to be. ❤️

I like to look at Cissy’s Cottage as a place where the past still has a place in the present.

Sometimes the best weekends are the ones where everyone comes together — but there’s still enough space to "escape" for a little quiet time 😀

Our three cosy cottages sleep 11 guests in total, making Ballymultimber the perfect place for a family get-together. Spend time together, share meals, explore the coast… then retreat to your own cottage when you fancy a little peace and quiet 😀😍

🤩Have you ever stayed in a real thatched cottage?

There was a time when thatched homes were a familiar sight across Ireland. Today, only a handful remain in Northern Ireland, making a stay like this something genuinely special.

Every stone, every beam and every layer of thatch tells a story. While we've added modern comforts, we've carefully protected the character that makes Cissy's cottage so unique 💖😊

🤩Leave the car behind and let the train take you there. ✨️

One of my favourite local tips for guests is to make the most of Bellarena Train Station, just a few minutes dander from Ballymultimber Cottages.

🌊🐚The journey is one of the most scenic in Northern Ireland....Head west to Derry~Londonderry for a day exploring the historic city, or travel east towards Coleraine, Portrush and Belfast, enjoying beautiful coastal views along the way 🥰

I love that you dont have to worry about parking, no traffic, and everyone gets to relax and enjoy the journey - especially the person who usually has to drive 🤩

It's a lovely way to see some of the Causeway Coast —and one that many visitors don't realise is right on our doorstep.

🤩 Anyone who has followed my page for a while will probably be aware of how much I love BENONE BEACH 🐚🌊 (4 miles away).

HOWEVER , I never park on it during the busy, summer season - especially when the weather is 🌞🌞🌞.

(The amount of people who get stuck in the soft sand and panic when the tide comes in. Over 50 years of coming here has taught me that the beach itself can be very unpredictable. 🙄)

TiP 🥰 I always use the large carpark at the complex and take the boardwalk through the dunes. It literally takes you 5 minutes to reach the beach. 😍🌊

💔 The Best Boy there Ever was - Murphy 💔

Murphy was here to meet the first guests way back in 2014 and most guests either saw him or met him. 🐶

He really was the best boy - my shadow and the most loyal and obedient dote, but after over 15 years he was just too tired for this world. 💔🙏
