If you’re going to build a second income…
or even a full-time one…

why not let it be something you actually love in your own time, on your own terms using an established product?

There are millions of people (including my friends) building businesses in network marketing across Tropic, MONAT, Herbalife, Forever Living, Body Shop At Home, Avon, Nu Skin, Utility Warehouse…

and every one of them chose it because they use & love the product.

They’re also part of something where the founders have said…instead of spending millions on ads, billboards and TV…let’s reward the people actually using the product and talking about it.

Which, when you think about it, makes a lot of sense.

For me, it was travel (for obvious reasons ✈️)
It doesn’t feel like work… I’m just sharing an online booking platform that I already use and love. Combined with my Airbnb business it’s just perfect for us as a family. Who doesn’t want to earn from bookings they were making anyway and travel more for less?

But the point is I also wouldn’t have found half the products I now use if they hadn’t been shared with me by people I trust….including this business 🙌

So if you’ve ever thought negatively about network marketing…or just don’t really get it…

just ask.

I’d always rather have a proper conversation than someone make assumptions because Karen mentioned the P word.

Because the brands I’ve mentioned are all amazing in their own way…
and so is the model behind them. People are making good residual income sharing and building teams in industries they love ✈️🌴

Oh & did I mention it doesn’t matter when you join or who you know, it’s effort based and you can overtake anyone…there’s no one person at ‘the top’ 👀

One last thing…..if anyone is being asked to invest in something where there isn’t a legitimate product attached that you can use and earn from…then thats your red flag 🚩

… I’m glad we’ve cleared that up 🤍

We swapped our usual Leeds hotel for this… and honestly we were blown away.

We took a one-night trip to Leeds for a family celebration. We usually stay in a well known family-friendly hotel there but this time I decided to explore other options via my travel business 🙌

We chose Hyatt House Leeds and it completely exceeded expectations.

Our apartment had two super king beds, two bathrooms (both with showers), tea and coffee with all the essentials, two kitchens, two TVs and two sofa areas. It felt so spacious and comfortable for a family stay.

Breakfast was included too which was a lovely continental spread before we headed home.

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and we’ve heard great things about the rooftop terrace which is family friendly until 6pm and serves South American food. Definitely one for next time.

Parking was right next door at and we were given a discount code as Hyatt guests, which was a nice little bonus.

Safe to say we’ll absolutely be staying here again next time we come to Leeds.

One of the things I’ve really enjoyed over the last two years is learning how to travel smarter as a family discovering places like this, often at the same price as a standard hotel but with so much more space and comfort.

Success looks different to everybody and what it took for us to this point was not light.

We took huge risks. There were sleepless nights, constant worry about whether the time and money we’d invested would actually pay off. We worked what felt like every minute of every day and if I’m honest, there were years where we were so focused on building the future that we weren’t always fully present in the moment.

I’m proud of what we built but would I tell my two children to take that same level of risk and pressure on? Probably not.

I want them to believe in something and to work hard, of course I do but I also want them to know that not everything has to start from scratch. There are opportunities out there where someone else has already built the foundations, already taken the early risks, already created the product.

And you get to build on top of it.

Now we’re in a position where we can add another income stream alongside what we’ve already built. Something that fits around our life rather than consuming it. Something we can grow in pockets of time instead of sacrificing everything for it.

That feels different.

And it still blows my mind.

Success looks different to everybody.

What looks like success now, for us, has come at a cost.

The risks we’ve taken.
The sleepless nights.
The constant fear that the time and money invested might not pay off.
Working every spare second.
Missing moments.
Turning down opportunities because we were location dependent.
Making decisions from fear rather than clarity.

Building a serviced accommodation business was something that IF it worked, could build us a life that meant the both of us could be present.

However…….the reality is, the economy shifts. Regulations change. Markets move. We are not always fully in control of what the end result will look like, no matter how hard we work. I’m speaking for most industries here…not just serviced accommodation.

So to now have access to something that is a business in a box, in an industry that has existed for decades, a company that regularly wins awards, where the foundations were built long before I arrived… it genuinely still blows my mind.

No, it is not a quick fix.
No, it is not overnight success…. if it was, I wouldn’t believe in it.

But…the framework is there.
The training is there.
The platform is established and you get to build it around your life.

After investing over a decade into businesses where longevity is always influenced by the wider market, having something that feels flexible and and can withstand the unpredictability of the global market….🤯

As promised here’s the process of adding panelling and a stair runner to our staircase at home 🧡🏡

We saved £100’s by buying everything ourselves and worked out that we could replace the runner 4 times and still would not have spent the same amount as we would have if the carpet fitters brought and fit their own runner and rods. We chose a thick underlay so it’s still super soft!

We also got our favourite to decorate the panelling and surrounding walls 🙌

Come with us to Waybourne Forest Lodges🌲✨

We somehow grabbed half-term availability on Airbnb (and I even got $200 off 👀 — see my January post if you want to know how as a host!).

The lodge and its surroundings were absolutely beautiful.

On the first night we had dinner at The Ship inn Waybourne…open fire, dog friendly and the staff were amazing with the kids 🔥🐶

Next morning we wandered through the woods to Weybourne Station, jumped on the steam train to Sheringham for fish & chips on the beach, arcades… then Holt.

I took over navigation and got us completely lost so we walked all the way back to the lodge 😆 Slept VERY well.

The next day we woke up to snow ❄️ Our friends joined us and we tried to brave the beach… failed. Ended up at holiday park for a roast instead (10/10 recommend amazing facilities including an onsite shop, parks and indoor and outdoor pool currently being built!).

This location was an absolute win-win for us as we had the forest on our doorstep, beaches everywhere and then all of the facilities at the holiday park which was just next door. It was so peaceful and dog friendly! The perfect way to kick start the half term 🧡

We’ll 100% be back in summer ☀️
