Just wanted to share with all operators the big change we made that’s helped us and our guests. With all holiday cottages and serviced accommodation access is always an issue so we use the following.

1. Meet and Greets ( time and money )
2. Lockboxes ( are we insured keys can get lost or copied )
3, pick up points ( keys can get lost or copied)

We had the same issue, so I had to find a solution to this in a cost affective way.
Now we tried a number of lock types, some had PIN numbers ( nightmare PIN numbers shared) 1 guests turns in ten.
So we kept looking, one of our owners bought smart locks. Omg how expensive and monthly subscription per lock to be online and functionality was awful and if your on the coast they didn’t last long due to salt corrosion.
So we looked again, we then found our solution, a intelligent lock that allows you to send ekeys that cannot be shared- timed access so no early arrivals and late checkouts can be charged. 24 hr monitoring we can see when our guests and cleaners enter the building. Linked access one app to open main door and the guest’s allocated apartment.
Very quickly we changed all our units to these locks and now manage over 50 guests per weekend and we capture all guests data for future sales.
With a one off payment remote access via Bluetooth - Wi-Fi less power consumption and No monthly fees we were on a winner.
