We want to give a very special thank-you to Jake and his team at The Health Hwb, who have put so much time and effort into organising the fundraising evening on Saturday. Without their hard work and commitment, the night simply wouldnβt have happened. We would also like to give a big thank you to those who provided the amazing entertainment, especially the Barry Brass Band, Brian Taylor and to all the staff at the Masonic Hall for hosting and feeding us. Thank you to everyone who attended; it was an amazing event.
Riverside Retreat was created for a very simple reason β to give veterans somewhere to come, switch off, take a breath, and spend some time with people who understand where they have come from. What we have created is a place where people can relax, feel welcome and, hopefully, remember that they are part of a community. But none of that happens without the amazing support, such as we saw on Saturday.
Every donation, every bit of help, every hour volunteered, and every person who has simply believed in what we are trying to do makes a difference. You are helping us to keep going and, in doing so, help veterans, their families and carers who need somewhere to escape the pressures of everyday life for a while. Coupled with collaboration with other agencies, for those who request welfare support, we help ensure campers have the best possible options to access assistance when returning to their locality.
Thank you for believing in us and thank you for supporting us.
