With the The Heart of Wales Line Trail Heart of Wales Line , local hospitality and routes for all abilities, Llandovery is a wonderful choice for a walking break.

Great market town and home to Silver Birch Cottage Llandovery 🏡💚

We love a Welsh market town, especially if it's got bags of character and history and proper pubs where you can get a round in without having to remortgage your house. One of our favourites is an underrated spot which lies on the River Tywi and is at the junction of the A40 and A483 roads.
It doesn’t make a massive fuss about its market town charm but give it a chance, and you’ll find ancient Roman ruins, a proud droving heritage, quirky shops and on one of the world's most scenic train journeys.
It’s a solid base for a countryside adventure, especially if you enjoy history, long walks and a lovely pub tea. There’s something genuinely refreshing about a town that isn’t trying to reinvent itself to suit the tourist crowd.
