🍛❤️ Have you tried The Spice Barn in Llanwrda, just outside Llandovery?

We treated ourselves to a takeaway on Saturday night, and it was really delicious ! 😋 It’s always nice to have a night off cooking, isn’t it?

The Spice Barn is a lovely family-run venture serving authentic Indian street food and home-cooked curries. Subhash uses traditional recipes and freshly ground, homemade spices, and you can really taste the difference!

Their menu changes every week, so there’s always something new to tempt you, and they even do authentic Indian desserts. 😍
It is only about 10 minutes from us so ideal.
If you fancy a relaxed weekend takeaway and something a little different, we’d definitely recommend giving them a try

So the question is should we get more sheep?🐑🐑
“No more animals!” is what we said this spring (or rather Mark did and I reluctantly agreed)
But sheep like to be in a flock of 4 or more to reduce their stress levels and keep them happy. 😊 so we had been talking about adding a couple more to our tiny flock of Frank and Fleur.🐑🐑

However, yesterday when I got to work, Tanya asked me if I would rescue a sheep called Ziggy who was having a lonely time being bullied by goats, on a smallholding from where she had recently rescued 8 neglected Alpacas .

So do we rescue Ziggy?🐑🐑 🐑

✨We loved hosting Jackie and Tamsin earlier in the year for the Llandovery literary festival. Such wonderful guests who really appreciated the peace tranquility in nature here.🌱
Chatting to them and learning about the sheer number of different birds around us here, has opened my eyes and become a bit of an obsession! 🐦‍⬛
I rarely go out walking now without my Merlin bird ap running!🪶
And now the best news ever is that The Book of Birds has become The Wainwright book of the Year! Huge congratulations to Jackie Morris and Rob Macfarlane. Such a beautiful and important book 👏🏻👏🏻

🧀How do you like your Welsh Rarebit? Traditional or with a twist?🧀
We had such a lovely lunch yesterday at the International Welsh Rarebit Centre in Defynnog, Sennybridge.❤️
We both love Welsh Rarebit but this is just the best!🧀
Each time we go, there are seasonal specials and this time we had the Summer Rarebit with goats cheese, honey, walnuts and marjoram.
It was delicious as always.😋
Then we just had to have coffee and cake, the courgette and lime is now my favourite! ❤️
The atmosphere inside is warm and relaxing and they sell local crafts and produce too.🧶
Upstairs from the cafe is a small exhibition space and we bought a couple of beautiful prints by a local artist to put in the cottage. 🧑‍🎨
We are so lucky to have so many amazing places within easy reach andWe love discovering new ones and sharing them with our guests. 🐷💚
