What a beautiful bird 🤩 We are lucky to have the red kite feeding station only 10 minutes down the road. It’s definitely worth a trip to see these amazing birds.

A rare red kite has been spotted feeding in Rhayader, Powys

Gigrin Farm say they have seen three of the leucistic red kites - which are white - visiting over the past few months, with two sometimes coming at the same time

Leucism is caused by a partial loss of pigmentation, resulting in white feathers on a bird, unlike albinism, it is caused by a reduction in multiple types of pigment, not just melanin

According to wildlife presenter Iolo Williams, the kites are "extremely rare"

Chaos in the Cabins!
We have shut down for a week to do a deep clean throughout each cabin. Carpet cleaners in tomorrow to do the bedrooms and sofas, a fresh lick of paint and anything that can be washed will be washed. A busy week ahead 😊
