10 places to visit when you stay with us β€οΈ
We get asked this a lot.
"What's actually worth doing while we're here?"
So here's what we actually tell people. Not a tourist leaflet. Just the good stuff π
β°οΈ 1. Walk the Great Orme
Or drive it. Or take the historic tramway up. However you do it, do it. The views from the top over the bay, the mountains, and out to sea are the kind that stop you mid-sentence. The wild goats up there are a bonus.
π‘ 2. Spend time on the pier
Not just a walk-to-the-end-and-back. Go in the evening. Watch the light change over the water. It's one of those places that feels completely different depending on the time of day.
π° 3. Conwy Castle
Fifteen minutes in the car and you're at one of the greatest medieval castles in Europe. Walk the walls, look out over the estuary, and wonder how on earth they built it in the 1280s. It's properly impressive.
π 4. West Shore at low tide
Most visitors stick to the North Shore and it's beautiful. But walk round to the West Shore and you get the estuary, the mountains behind it, and almost nobody else. One of our favourites.
π 5. The Great Orme Tramway
Britain's only surviving cable-hauled street tramway. Been running since 1902. It's a short ride but a genuinely lovely one and the kind of thing you don't find anywhere else. Book ahead in summer.
π 6. Catch a show at Venue Cymru
West End tours, comedy, concerts, the programme is always worth a look before you arrive. And it's literally a one-minute walk from our front door. Dinner, a show, back to the hotel. Easy evening sorted.
ποΈ 7. A day in Snowdonia
You're closer than you think. Betws-y-Coed is under 30 minutes. Snowdon itself not much further. If the weather's kind, don't waste it, get into the mountains. You can be back for dinner.
βοΈ 8. The Bronze Age Copper Mines
Under the Great Orme. Over 4,000 years old. The largest prehistoric copper mines in the world and most people have no idea they're there. Underground tours, fascinating history. Genuinely worth it.
π¨ 9. Mostyn Gallery
Free entry, rotating contemporary art exhibitions, and a good cafΓ©. Right in the town centre. Even if you're not usually a gallery person, give it twenty minutes. You might surprise yourself.
π
10. The promenade at sunrise
This one's free and it might be the best of the lot. Set your alarm, step outside, and walk the seafront before the town wakes up. Just you, the sea, and that view. It's the kind of thing you remember long after you've checked out.
