Having run a very successful award winning guest house in Llandudno, Berin and I decided we wanted a new challenge and found the Shelbourne. Tired, dated and unloved we decided this was the place for us. With stunning views of Llandudno Bay, a lift and car parking, we thought we had won the lottery. We are now 2 years and 4 months in and 1 pandemic under our belt but were still going strong. Just
before the 1st lock down we committed to changing the heating and hot water system as the one we had quite often didn't produce water especially if the house was full. But now thanks to Hendly Heating Engineers we have an amazing pressurised heating and hot water system and plenty of hot water for everyone. Lockdown has been hard on most of us, but we made the most of it and during the 1st lockdown we managed to get ourselves jobs at the local covid center to keep us going. During the next couple of lock downs we decided to start refurbishing and transforming the old tired Shelbourne into the new modern one we have today decorating 13 of our 15 bedrooms, and totally transforming the out dated lounge into our modern fresh dining room and removing the hideous reception desk and creating a relaxing lounge area. We also replaced the out dated radio controlled fire alarm system and now have a brand new modern up to date system thanks to Dragon Fire. All refurbs have now been placed on hold until the end of this year (2021) when we will start replacing bathrooms and decorating the last 2 bedrooms.
