Morfa Isaf farm Idyllic coastal retreat consisting of 2 barn conversions and my farm guesthouse (room only). Sonia I have decided to do room only from now on.

Although I understand breakfast is a big part of some people's experience, I provide a fridge in your room and will do my best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Naturally the beautiful garden and view of the sea not to mention fabulous walks are all still here!

A very Happy New Year from Morfa Isaf 🎉🥂🎶
I'm sorting through decorations, old cards and wondering what to keep, take to a charity shop or bin.
I came across this ribbon...definitely charity for me. Wrapping isn't my thing. Then I saw the label. I can't bring myself to get rid of that....Woolworths. Too many memories of that shop in Cardigan and their creaky old wooden floor set out on different levels.

I hope to see some of you in 2026. Lots of Winter vacancies looking into the near future. A cold, windy day today calls out for a sofa, snuggly blanket day ✅💯!

It's National Poetry Day today and I would absolutely love to share this poem written by Bethan, my cousin...mmm.. twice removed I think.

She was 11 years old at the time and read it to me sat on her bed. I cried, honestly. It was written for a competition and she won, surprise surprise.
Just feeling a little proud over here in Wales, Bethan

Well done x

Wonderful Water
By Bethan Doney

Water is life, water is death,
Water is sadness, at times happiness.
Water is changing, with every tide
Water, when clean, can fill you with pride.
Glaciers are melting, to deep ocean blue
Water runs with the world just like me and you
It has no defence, no tactics, no strength
But with our surroundings, its growing in length
The fiery blanket, that smothers our Earth,
With every pounce, plants have no rebirth.
For that we need water, our beautiful lakes
Tears from the heavens, what a wonderful place.
Rivers that flow and rivers which sleep,
We need them to bathe, to drink , to weep.
Water is pivotal it succours we survive,
If only we'd look at it for once through Earth’s eyes.
We take in a breath, of freedom, of life,
Yet the havoc won’t stop,
It cuts like a knife.
So the sharp scent of salt now sits over filth,
All of this chaos is caused from our spilth.
But if we took a moment and reflected our wrongs,
With all of them stacked our mistakes would be songs.
Wrapping round the world like rivers that flow,
Gushing, rushing but nobody knows.
Babbling streams that trickle with dreams,
Wonderful water is all the world needs.

Here's one of the reasons I don't follow in my mother's footsteps and do evening meals. Freshly bought broad beans, some other veg and Pembrokeshire potatoes were going to be used for a stew later. Timer was on but my friend Lucille turned up and we sat outside, hey ho 🤷 I'm blaming her!!

On a positive note, Morfa Isaf farm is looking fantastic after the grass was cut yesterday.
We still have some availability for the summer.

Today is Purple day, the International Day for Epilepsy 26th of March.

When I was running my parents' bed and breakfast a few years ago, I sat with a guest chatting about life and the Universe as I so often did with my guests. I asked him casually why he didn't drive. Eventually after an awkward silence he said he had epilepsy. I said, hoping to help his huge embarrassment at that moment, "oh wow, I have epilepsy too!

He said he was teased mercilessly at school and had locked himself away from his own invisible disability. He explained there was still a stigma attached to epilepsy and that he didn't want to tell anybody....ever.
We chatted about it openly. He told me he just come from the epilepsy conference in London and showed me the bright purple T-shirt that he'd bought.

I know he loved to walk on the footpath near the farm. I asked him if he could wear his new t-shirt to go walking. He looked terrified for a moment and asked, "what if somebody asks me why I'm wearing it."
I suggested he just be really honest and tell them that he had epilepsy.

I felt really happy that he came down a little later wearing his bright purple t-shirt and went off for a walk. Some time later he returned with a look of excitement on his face as if he'd received the best Christmas present ever on the planet!
He told me he'd spoken to two different couples who said they had people in their family with epilepsy. Both couples had had an open, heart felt chat with him around the subject and it's challenges.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy myself when I was 22 years old. Thankfully, my medication keeps any seizures at bay.

I am aware that I have an invisible disability and that I've had to find my own peace of mind knowing I'll probably have epilepsy for the rest of my life.
I'm hugely blessed. I'm allowed to drive but I know I need to take care of myself.

How does my epilepsy affect me? I have finally taken the courage to ask for help with all my administrative work because my brain doesn't deal with all of that stuff well. I've spent years trying to be a clever bug**r but wise enough now to acknowledge what I can and can't do.
I have less money in the bank but I do have my own personal assistant 💕
Joining the dots in day to day life proves challenging at times. I don't remember faces very well and my memory....well!

But I have tons more courage after taking the risk to be vulnerable and definitely have a ton more peace of mind as well. I'm not carrying around a dark, stigmatised secret.... AND I can play the piano, sing and be an independent celebrant and a counsellor, oh and book people into my cottages...but PLEASE not at the same time if you need any of those skills 🤣🤣

I just have to share this...my great niece, 2 years old enjoying Christmas day 💕 she really is adorable. Yep, I'm biased.

When I was a child growing up, the tide never went out this far, ever. Not sure what that's got to do with the price of milk....is probably what this cow is thinking.
Both cottages have availabilities until March. Do get in touch. All details on my website

Thanks and a belated happy New Year
