There've been a few scares recently regarding Newborough Forest and portable BBQs and fires...Please, if you see anyone down there acting irresponsibly, do get in touch with the police! Any large scale fire would potentially wipe out much of the wildlife including the red squirrels.

The snowdrops are out and daffodils are nudging up through the soil. Buds are on the trees in the copse opposite our cottage. Not Spring yet, obviously but this is the promise of warmer outdoor times.

We were at the cottage yesterday to make sure it's ready for Christmas! It's not going to be a white Christmas (can anyone remember when Ynys Mon had a white Noel) but Treanna Lodge will make sure it's a cosy one sitting around the log burner.

There's been a lot of comment on difficulties getting to and from Newborough beach. Try Aberffraw or Malltraeth for great local beaches, long walks, dog friendly sands and no queues!

It's weather like this that reminds us of how special Anglesey is and of how much we appreciated the shade of the trees in the garden. Anglesey because there are so many places to find the cooling sea breezes and the cottage because its stone construction keeps the rooms cool.

Spring new coat of paint for the Lodge. Still some availability for the summer. The weather now could not be better! Everywhere on the island is bursting green as the season shows what it can do.
