🐾 Happy National Dog Day from Aberafon! 🐾

There’s nothing quite like a dog who’s had the best day ever — sandy paws, sea air, and a proper Welsh welcome. Our four-legged guests get their own doggy welcome pack on arrival, plus treats, blankets and towels waiting for them.

And when the beach adventures are over? Straight into our outside warm shower to rinse off before curling up by the woodburner. 🐕🌊

Dog-friendly, Blue Flag beach on the doorstep, bay views from the patio — Aberafon is made for holidays with the whole pack in mind.

Aberafon…where some of the best things are the things you don’t really notice until you’ve stayed here… 🌊

🚗 That lovely feeling of arriving, unpacking the car and realising you don’t really need to go anywhere for a few days.

🌊 The sound of the sea when you wake up.

🏖️ Being able to wander down to the beach without having to get in the car, or even walk more than a few steps.

☕️ Watching the tide come in while you’re having a coffee on the terrace.

🥾 A quick walk along the coastal path that somehow turns into a much longer one.

🍦 Grabbing an ice cream or fish and chips and strolling back home.

🐾 Dogs running on the beach, loving their holiday too.

🏡 And then, after a day out, coming back to a house that feels like part of the holiday too — somewhere comfortable to relax, cook, sit outside, watch the sea and simply enjoy being together.

It’s the simple things, really. The little moments that you don’t necessarily plan, but end up remembering.

That’s what we love about Aberafon and Llangrannog 💙.

🌊 Is there anything Llangrannog beach doesn’t have? ❤️

We might be biased, but we think it’s pretty close to perfect!

🏖️ A lovely sandy beach for sandcastles, paddling and lazy days in the sunshine, with a little river running down to the sea that’s great for children (and dogs!) to splash about in.

💙 Blue Flag status, lifeguards during the summer and the beautiful waters of Cardigan Bay – where, if you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins from the shore. 🐬

🪨 Caves, rocks and rock pools to explore plus the chance to paddleboard when the sea is calm or get the surfboard out when the waves arrive. 🏄‍♀️

And you’re never far from the essentials… an ice cream parlour, pizzeria, village shop, beachside café, and the Pentre Arms are all just a few steps away. 🍦☕🍕🍺

Then there’s Cilborth Beach, tucked around the headland beyond Carreg Bica – another beautiful stretch of sand to discover, with the coastal path offering some gorgeous views along the way. 🌿

Add in the coastal walks, dramatic cliffs, sunsets and that lovely feeling of being beside the sea, and it really is a pretty special little corner of Wales.

❤️ And staying at Aberafon makes enjoying it all even easier.

You’re literally a few seconds from the beach, so there’s no need to worry about forgetting anything. Need another drink? Someone wants lunch? Forgotten the bucket and spade? The dog has had enough of the sand?

Just pop home!

You can even pop home to enjoy lunch on the terrace overlooking the beach before heading straight back down again.

And when you’re done for the day, there’s a warm outdoor shower ready for sandy feet and paws. 🐾🚿
