Under Starry Skies

Under Starry Skies A magical holiday setting in wildflower meadows, under starry skies in beautiful West Wales Croeso! Simple and secluded.

Hafan cabin (meaning 'Haven' in Welsh), Derwen cabin (Welsh for Oak) and Llwynbwch Barn. Come and kick back in our one-of-a kind cabins set amidst unspoilt Welsh farmland. Hafan and Derwen were lovingly built by us with help from a good friend. In the tradition of many Welsh buildings we designed them with the Welsh weather in mind - it has good strong boots and hat. These come in the form of a wo

oden deck and arcing living roof to keep you cool in the summer sun and warm and snug on chilly evenings or during the winter. Cwtch up on the sofa by the woodburner, relax in the mezzanine bed, or take it easy with a coffee and great book or dinner al fresco on the deck. Gaze at the starry skies whilst enjoying the warmth of a campfire in the meadow below. or go for a wander through the meadows, looking for bluebells, wild orchids, deer, badger prints or Red Kites. Llwynbwch Barn is a beautiful restored barn, now available as a self catering holiday let, sleeps 4. A restful, airy home with all mod cons, charming woodburners and its own secluded and peaceful garden. Set in an old dairy farm with 60 acres of meadows and woodland, home to bluebells, wild orchids and other wild flowers. During your stay you're sure to spot Red kites circling above, hear owls and you may find signs of badgers, deer, bats and perhaps otters. Continue down the footpath into the small, friendly village of Llansadwrn, where you'll find the local pub the Sexton Arms. Our night skies are perfect for sky spotting as we're on the edge of Wales' first Dark Sky Reserve. Nearby are the lovely market towns of Llandeilo and Llandovery, the Brecon Beacons national park is a few minutes' drive, the National Botanical Garden of Wales is half an hour away and the stunning coasts of West Wales, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion's beaches are a short drive. Breathe deep and fill up on a little bit of Welsh heaven.

Happy Birthday/ Penblwydd hapus to one of our favourite places!

The National Botanic Garden of Wales helped put Carmarthenshire on the map and its Great Glasshouse, designed by modernist architect Sir Norman Foster, was once the largest single-span glasshouse in the world.

So many beautiful local walks from Under Starry Skies.

Today's was a new one for us which took us along an old Drovers lane, from Llansadwrn towards Talley village. Big skies, stunning views and some gorgeous, friendly long legged horses, all to the soundtrack of skylarks who were flitting about in the sunshine.

We're always happy to share ideas of walks from the doorstep, walks which start locally and those a little further afield, including the popular Llyn y fan Fach (lady of the lake) (20 minutes drive) and The Four waterfalls walk at Ystradgynlais (40 mins drive).

Why not plan for a walk during your stay 😊
