During your stay at Vyrnwy Valley Lodges, why not take some time out to visit one of Wales fantastic castles. The closest to us is Powis castle just 8 miles away in Welshpool.

Wales is believed to have more castles per square mile than any other country in the world.

Caerphilly Castle is the largest castle in Wales and the second largest in Europe.

Chepstow Castle is Britain's oldest surviving medieval stone castle made of stone. Its construction began in 1067.

Beaumaris Castle on Anglesey is generally considered the finest example of a concentric castle in Europe. It has been a World Heritage site since 1986.

The ruined Flint Castle is the only British castle with two donjons. It is famous for having the thickest walls (7 m / 23 ft) of any castle anywhere.

Powis Castle possesses Britain's oldest, and one of the last, true formal baroque gardens and is the most visited National Trust property in Wales.

Conwy Castle is considered to be one of the finest examples of late 13th century and early 14th century military architecture in Europe,

Lake Vyrnwy is only 16 miles away from us at Vyrnwy Valley Lodges & well worth a visit. With its majestic Victorian dam & the water levels at an all time low, exposing the ruins of the original village of llanwddyn.

Hi there folks. We have been very busy here at Vyrnwy valley lodges over the last few weeks. All five lodges are now finished & accepting guests. Easter was very good and it was lovely seeing people enjoying themselves. We are now starting to put in barbecue stations outside each one, so the work is still continuing on. Mowing the lawn’s in the glorious Mid Wales sunshine ☀️

Lots of work has gone on since our last post. After a few hiccups Number 3, Ash lodge is now open for customers. Also 4 & 5 are nearly there too. Fingers crossed they will all be open for Easter 🤞🏻The field is now a very big lawn after being rolled & cut numerous times over the early part of the year & now looks amazing.
