🌊🪶 Manx Shearwaters 🪶🌊
Did you know Pembrokeshire’s islands support the largest breeding population of Manx Shearwaters in the world? 💖🪶🌊 From August - November, they leave for their long migration to South America.
It is now that time of year when Manx Shearwaters can become grounded on the mainland after being disorientated by artificial light. Sadly, once on flat ground, they’re unable to take off again & need rescuing 🙏
If you find a grounded Manxie:
🧤 Wear gloves and gently place it in a well-ventilated box.
📦 Close the lid and keep it somewhere quiet and undisturbed.
