Dear Valued Customers,

It is with regret that I wish to inform you that Adrian and I have decided to separate.

As of today, Adrian will be based in Wales at the Dolaucothi Arms, where he will be overseeing the running of the bed and breakfast, bar, and falconry.

Simon and my family team at Cheddar will continue to manage and serve our customers at Cheddar and Winscombe as usual, and there will be no change to the level of service you receive at these locations.

This is a challenging and emotional time for our family, and we appreciate your understanding and patience while we navigate this transition. Thank you for your continued support.

At this time of year, when we are all enjoying the Christmas festivities and spirit! Its easy to forget those who are working hard over the festive season. People in retail, hospitality, the medical, care & nursing sector. The food producers, the teams cleaning places, people serving in the military and the firecrews, police, ambulance crews, lifeboat volunteers and animal rescues. The people who are quietly caring for unwell loved ones at home, the volunteers providing support , food and comfort to those in need. People who often go unnoticed for all their good deeds and kindness.
We should all spare a thought for all these wonderful people and also for their families as they support them and patiently wait until they finally get home for their Christmas together.
Thank you to all the kind customers and guests who have supported us over the year.

Stay FISH Fly
Fishing experiences when staying at our lovely B&B/Falconry & bar couldn't be better. Yesterday. Ade and Estelle had an alternative to a date night!! And instead headed over the breath taking Black Mountains(honeymoon memories on this stunning drive)for a spot of fly fishing at Ty Y Graig fishery at Crynant. Fabulous spot and superb fishing. Great day out together and with a bit of team work bagged 6 beautiful Rainbow Trout! Guided fishing, lunch hampers and equipment can be supplied for guests wishing to have a day out fishing.

With Christmas fast approaching its been lovely to help a few good causes.

Mandy Johnson did an amazing job organising the Pumsaint christmas fair and we donated a " meet the birds & cream tea " experience. Fantastic amount raised by Mandy for breast cancer charity.

Mary asked if we could donate wine for the seniors christmas event on December 3rd at the Pumsaint hall and so a dozen bottles of wine were gifted to them for the party. Hope they all had a nice time.

We also had the brilliant sky dive for charity team of 20 from the Druid Arms near Aberystwyth, come to us for sunday lunch and to the meet the birds. They were en route back from jumping for to raise money for HAHAV Ceredigion. If your out that way pop in to see Nigel and crew. Absolutely lovely people and what a great cause to raise money for.

We have 9 copies left of The Last Stand by Maggie Dover. A beautifully illustrated and powerfully worded story of the destruction of Wales by the greedy not green, energy companies. £6/copy. This is a true fairy story and a wake up call!

We had a lovely large family group in on Sunday for a roast dinner & bird of prey experience. If you want a different sort of Sunday lunch , then we can offer either a morning or afternoon bird of prey experience with roast Sunday lunch at 12.30/1pm, great fun snd super interesting for all the family /friends. As Autumn draws in we will continue to open Thursdays 12-3pm for light lunch & bar. Fridays 5-9pm Bar only. Saturday 12-9pm bar with light lunches served 12- 3pm. Sunday 12.30 - 4pm with pre booked Sunday roast served until 2pm. As with many establishments in the area we do not open for drinks/lunches every day of the week. However, the B&B is open 7 days and the falconery Sundays /Mondays/ Tuesdays/ Wednesdays.

Our two lovely Saturday assistants are both away this weekend.
The bar, teas & coffees will run as usual 12.30 - 9pm. However , no light lunches on Saturday but there will be freshly made pre packed sandwiches available

It was wonderful seeing the horses , riders & Walkers on Sunday when they popped in for tea / coffee & cake during the " pass wide & slow ride " organised by Lucie.
They braved appalling weather for the cause, so big WELL DONE to you all.
Also a big thank you to all our fab Sunday lunch diners, who chatted and laughed their way through " Silly Sunday ". We all know the chaos but everything was all right in the end. 😂🤣.
