We are delighted to finally be able to share a video showcasing all the work that’s been getting down at Rhumhor over the last few months to upgrade our downstairs halls and public rooms.
We were lucky to be working again with the hugely talented Neil McKinlay (www.neilmckinlay.com) and his sons Caleb and Taylor who have painstakingly installed wood panelling in our hall and beautiful herringbone style oak wood flooring in our family room, drawing room and dining room.
Their pièce de résistance was however the new hardwood front door installed in place of a reproduction copy that had seen better days. The hall is now flooded with natural light and to be able to see the wonderful view out from the front of the house through the door is amazing!
Neil made the door from scratch and installed above it a wonderful piece of stained glass ( an image of the loch from the front of the house) that the equally talented Tessa Mackenzie ( www.tessamackenzie.com) from Glasgow made for us.
We couldn’t be more thrilled with finished new front door, hall and flooring. It’s all part of our vision to continue to upgrade the interiors of Rhumhor whilst respecting and preserving the Victorian heritage of the building.
Thanks also to our housekeeper Sam at Kozy Cottages for her hard work in helping put the property back together after each bit of the work, Geoff our unflappable handyman who also helped with getting the old lady ready for guests after works and to Alaisdair Mirlees and co for their usual high standard of electrical works.
Now for a rest to enjoy the new look space!
