A favourite place for a wee swim...

It was great to visit the Loch an t-Sabhail circular path at Little Assynt this week, and see the impressive regeneration of the native vegetation cover in the 12 years since our first visit - not to mention the superbly maintained path. Great work by the Coigach & Assynt Living Landscape partnership. If you've never done this lovely circuit, try it the next time you are in the area.

A copy of this will be making it’s way to the Lochside bookshelf 📚

A brand new book on the history of fishing in the parish is now available from all good bookshops (in Lochinver Ullapool and Unapool :-) ) Inverbank Books and Newsagents and The Rock Stop are both stocking "Fishing in Assynt, an oral history" at a bargain £10 with all profits going to Historic Assynt. In Ullapool it's available from the Ullapool Bookshop and the Ceilidh place.

The author is typing this post, so will leave it up to you to decide how good or otherwise it is, but with well over 100 pages packed with history, photographs and memories of a time past ... what's not to love?

Pop down to a local reseller and buy one - you'll be supporting our wee charity and with a bit of luck I'll work out how to get copies mailed if anyone from further afield is looking for one.

Ideal present for birthdays, Christmas (too soon?), Valentines? (always push that boat a little too far don't I? 😂)
