Distillery days, fireside nights — that's September sorted.

The Hebridean Whisky Festival runs 5–12 September, and it opens right here on our chain of islands: North Uist Distillery throws its doors open on Saturday the 5th, with Benbecula Distillery following that weekend — both an easy drive south from the cabins. Warehouse tours, cask tastings, a few things the rest of the world hasn't tried yet.

Then come home to the quiet: a dram by the wood burner and a bath with a sea view. Stay three nights or more and the fire's laid and a welcome hamper's in when you arrive.

Two hours on the ferry, and the world changes gear.

This is first light over our forest — tide sliding out, dawn chorus at full volume, nobody else awake. Some mornings we just stand on the balcony and listen.

Three cabins for two hide in these trees, each with a free-standing bath, a wood-burner, and this to look at. Arrive any day of the week — the forest doesn't keep a calendar.

When did you last have a beach entirely to yourself?

Not early-morning-before-anyone to yourself — the-only-footprints-are-yours to yourself, all day. Just an ordinary day out here. This is Berneray, one causeway north of us: miles of white shell-sand and oystercatchers for company.

Back home, our three cabins sleep two in the forest, with beaches of their own minutes away. Arrive any day, stay any length from 3 nights.

New Season, new boat!

We are delighted to introduce Amarisa to both the harbour and our passengers at Lady Anne Wildlife Cruises. While the winter might be our down time in terms of trips, this one has been incredibly busy behind the scenes as we've been looking for just the right boat to ferry us into a new season!

Bookings will go live on April 5th and we can't wait to welcome you aboard for another summer of wildlife trips around Uist's beautiful coast!
