. Access to the property is private with self check in but as this is an annexe to our main property we are also on hand for any support, general queries or advice should you so wish. A welcome pack of essentials is included plus a few treats and we are Pet friendly for a small additional fee. There is outside free on road parking but we can offer secure off road parking for bicycles or motorbikes with cleaning facilities. We can offer access to our garden too for some outdoor relaxation. Located in Lockerbie town centre access to the gift shops, supermarkets, cafes, takeaways, restaurants & Railway station are all less than 0.3 miles away. Exploring locally and further afield in the region whether your interests are historical, architectural or literary there are so many attractions to visit. Engaging in leisure activities could not be easier too. The most gorgeous and often very tranquil wildlife & nature settings are accessible in the many forests across southern Scotland. Access to the beautiful Solway coast beaches such as Powfoot, Southerness, Sandyhills and Rockcliffe is easy from our location. The Eskrigg Nature reserve is only (0.7 miles away) with red squirrels resident and access to various walking or cycling routes via the Annandale way or Southern Upland way to explore further afield. We are well positioned for either GB End to End or Scotland Coast to Coast walking/cycling/exploring. Leisure Attractions include walking/hiking, cycling/mountain biking with easy access to the 7 Staines with our favourite Forest of AE (21 miles) where you can hire bikes too. Castles such as Caerlaverock (16.5 miles ) is well worth a visit or do a loop of Castle Loch just over a 3 mile walk in nearby Lochmaben (4 miles ) to view the remains of 12th century Lochmaben castle. Museums aplenty such as The Devils Porridge (15 miles ), D&G Aviation Museum in Dumfries (11 miles ) cover military history. The Robert Burns museum Dumfries (12 miles ) Thomas Carlyle's birthplace in Ecclefechan (6.5 miles ) are worth visits
Dark skies are in abundance for viewing beautiful astronomical sights in the region and organised viewings occur at Moffat observatory(18 Miles ) and Galloway forest (40 miles ) and accessible viewing places are also only 5-10 mins walk from the apartment. Wildlife including deer, red kites, red squirrels, many migratory birds, golden eagles and otters offer many sighting and photographic opportunities in the region. There are various lochs from 10 mins to 1 hour where you can wild swim, kayak or paddleboard too with some offering hiring of equipment too. Further shopping is available in Dumfries (12 Miles away) and Gretna Outlet village (16.5 miles away) while access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh is under 1 hour via trains direct from Lockerbie or 1 to 1.5 hours drive from our location.
