One of the best ways to experience Shoreditch is simply on foot.

From hidden green spaces and historic markets to neighbourhood restaurants, local pubs and rooftop views, some of East London’s most characterful spots are just a short walk from The Eight Apartments.

On the doorstep: the site of the original playhouse.

When the lease on The Theatre expired in 1598, the building was dismantled and its timbers were transported across the Thames to help construct The Globe.

Today, Shoreditch still carries traces of this history, from the Shakespeare statue and Romeo & Juliet mural to hidden quotations woven throughout the neighbourhood.

On the Doorstep: Singburi

After more than two decades as a cult favourite in Leytonstone, Singburi now sits in Shoreditch. Opened in 1999, it built its following on handwritten menus, BYOB nights, and those who knew to book well ahead.

Now led by Sirichai Kularbwong, part of the founding family, this next chapter unfolds with new partners behind the move, bringing the same spirit into a more open, contemporary space.
