🇬🇧🚴‍♀️ The Tour Of Britain in Swaledale today as they head towards Leyburn in Wensleydale to complete Stage Four 🚴🏻‍♂️🇬🇧

What a backdrop for a bike race!

Photographed this afternoon during Stage 4 of the Tour of Britain as the peloton climbed Grinton Moor. With the heather in full bloom across the Swaledale moorland and the patchwork fields of the Yorkshire Dales stretching out below, the landscape was every bit as impressive as the racing itself.

A brilliant advertisement for cycling and for one of England's most beautiful valleys.

We’ve welcomed such a wonderful mix of clients through our doors — each coming to us for something a little different.

🥂 Two lovely ladies visited ahead of their hen party celebrations — one enjoying our beautiful Body Glow, while the other chose Pressotherapy. The perfect pre-celebration pampering.

🌿 We’ve also enjoyed lots of Eve Taylor London facials and massage treatments for our regular clients, giving skin some well-deserved care and attention.

🥾 And our Coast to Coast walkers have been making the most of our new Infrared Sauna and Restore Ritual — the perfect combination to soothe tired bodies and recharge after a day on the trail.

It’s exactly what we love about Rejuvenate — welcoming people from near and far and creating a little space to slow down, reset and feel your best. ✨

We’re delighted to have been included in a list of 'Britain’s most underrated wonders' published by The Telegraph over the Bank Holiday weekend!

Ten regular contributors to Telegraph Travel were asked to reveal the lesser-known British places they believe deserve more attention — and we’re thrilled that our theatre in Richmond made the top 10. 🎭

Here’s what travel writer Paul Bloomfield had to say:

“Ever wondered what a theatrical performance looked (and smelt and sounded) like in Jane Austen’s day? Step inside Richmond’s Georgian Theatre Royal.

Built in 1788 by actor-manager Samuel Butler for his touring troupe, Britain’s most complete Georgian playhouse remains miraculously intact since it closed nearly two centuries ago, down to the pale green decor and boxes named for playwrights: Goldsmith, Sheridan, Dryden, Congreve and, of course, Shakespeare.

Back then, the 400 or so punters packed into pit, stalls and boxes, cheered, booed, and even threw things at actors throughout the show lasting five or six hours. Book tickets for a performance today and you’ll enjoy a much more elegant experience; better still, join an immersive backstage tour, admiring probably the oldest surviving stage set in the UK.

Then explore the winsome town’s hulking Norman castle and ruined Easby Abbey, pick up a slab of Wensleydale in the cobbled market square and pair with a slice of fruity Yorkshire tea loaf.”

The beautiful purple haze of heather here in Swaledale 💜🌸🍃

Heather does more than colour our landscapes purple. 💜🐝

Flowering late into the season, heather is a vital source of nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinators when many other plants have finished blooming.

Planning a stay at Millgate Fosse Cottage?
If you’re looking for a perfect day out, we highly recommend heading over to the next dale of Wensleydale to see stunning Hardraw Force! It’s England’s highest single-drop waterfall and was used in the 1991 Kevin Costner Film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Have a drink at The Green Dragon pub afterwards, it’s a traditional pub with original features, beamed ceilings, open fires and dates from the 13th century.
