Frieze week calls for a base with character.

Frieze London and Frieze Masters return to The Regent’s Park from the 14th to 18th October, with the free Frieze Sculpture trail running through the park’s gardens throughout the season. Galleries, artists and art lovers descend on the city for one of London’s most anticipated weeks.

As the light softens over Marylebone, Henry’s Townhouse settles into its most atmospheric season. There is something particularly fitting about an autumn stay at a Regency house, candlelight catching the antiques in Jane’s Reading Room, the Terrace still warm enough for an evening gathering, Henry’s Drawing Room ready for pre-dinner drinks.

Taken exclusively, the house’s six bedrooms become the backdrop for a stay entirely your own, with a delicious Henry’s breakfast served daily in Monsieur Halavant’s Pantry.

London comes into its own this time of year too. The London Design Festival opens the season in mid-September, followed by Frieze week in October, when galleries, collectors and artists move through the capital, and the free Frieze Sculpture trail runs through The Regent’s Park’s English Gardens from mid-September to November. It makes Marylebone, and Henry’s, the ideal base for a season spent wandering between exhibitions, long lunches and cosy evenings.

Each of the six bedrooms at Henry’s Townhouse in Marylebone, London has been individually designed as a glamorous reimagining of the Regency period, inspired by the novelist Jane Austen, whose brother Henry once resided at No. 24. The connection feels apt and something of that world lingers in the house still.

Every detail has been considered with care: rich fabrics, deep colour palettes, antiques and artwork that rewards a second look. It is a house that has been genuinely loved into being rather than simply decorated.
