Granny grunge or mid century cool? This Ercol set started life with orange wood and floral covers...
They took over a week to stip back the wood and one trip to A & E, whoops nearly cut my finger off. Wire wool mishap.
Then a white wash and the spindles painted black.
The covers were redone in cool cream and big brass buttons to finish the set.

This is my 2nd set of fantastic animal chairs because I loved the velvet covers soooo much on the first ones, I just had to do some more.
This time only 4 chairs. Only about 60 years old maybe?

This set of chairs I think are about 150 years old. The people I bought them from said they were brought over from Iran ...

This set of chairs I think are about 150 years old. The people I bought them from said they were brought over from Iran as a wedding present. They are Gothic Revival in style. Hand made and individually carved.
They were originally brown wood, maybe oak, with brown leather seats and were just a bit mouldy and ripped in places. They had hessian strapping then a hessian covering, horse hair or some kind of wood shavings for padding. Take a peak at their transformation...
