A definite "win" for the industry! Rt Hon Rachel Reeves has today announced the Great British Summer Savings Scheme which includes a reduction in VAT on admission to visitor attractions and theme parks from 20% to 5% for the summer period!

This is a campaign that The British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions has worked hard to deliver over many years so we are delighted this scheme will positively impact our Members by encouraging families to visit our Members' attractions over the summer period.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has today (21 May) updated the House of Commons on the Government's economic response to the war in Iran, and the action they are taking to support families and businesses with the Cost of Living.

At BALPPA, we love nothing more than seeing our Members come together to share ideas, learn from one another, and build valuable connections — and Tuesday's Marketing seminar did exactly that.

A massive thank you to our fabulous hosts, Paultons Park, for looking after us so well, our wonderful event sponsors Agility Marketing and Semantic and our fantastic speakers.

Thank you also to everyone who attended — your participation, energy, and insightful discussions made the event such a success.

This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to share a special conversation with Cassie Poland, BALPPA’s first female Vice Chair.

Cassie doesn’t want to be just the first, but the first of many. So she’s stepped out of her comfort zone to talk about her journey, the progress she’s seen, and the realities women still face in their careers, in the hopes of encouraging more talented women into leadership positions.

On 8th March, we’ll be sharing the full discussion, so stay tuned

Lights, camera, ACTION 🤩

A star-studded venue for our star-studded Annual Dinner. Last night we kicked off our 90th Anniversary in style at Madame Tussaud’s with the most famous faces from across the attractions industry.

A fantastic night was had by all, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing sponsors; IAAPA EMEA, RAW Charging, accesso Technology Group plc, Gallagher Insurance, Vision XS, Photo Experience, TouchWood Play

There will be plenty more to come from the night but for now enjoy this sneak peak and see if you can spot the next Bond 👀

Employers can use the Working Minds Awareness Day Calendar 2026 to plan and take action on mental health at work.

Good mental health is not just good practice — it’s a legal duty. The Working Minds campaign supports employers to manage work-related stress and treat psychological risks in the same way as physical ones.

Use key awareness dates — including Time to Talk Day (5 Feb), Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 May) and World Mental Health Day (10 Oct) — to start conversations, review risks and take practical steps to prevent harm.

Download the calendar and access free tools and guidance to make managing mental health part of everyday work:
