Did you know that historically, seven pedestrian gates allowed access into medieval London? The Gate’s name is inspired by the historic Aldgate - one of these entry points. Travellers entering and leaving London through these would gather and socialise at gatehouses and in communal spaces.

We’ve taken that concept of private and communal spaces and reimagined it into 189 rooms ranging from studios to penthouses. Modern, light communal areas include a breakfast area, a downstairs bar, a residents’ only lounge and an outdoor terrace.
