After many months without any weddings, I was finally lucky enough to photograph Paula and Chris' long awaited big day on Saturday at Packfords Hotel , Woodford Green.

Even if we can’t host large wedding receptions right now, we can reminisce about them! This is Karen & Derek Warwick and they got married at Packfords Hotel on the 11th June 1988!
Karen said, ‘We loved the feeling of a family house (albeit very posh!)& that everyone was taken care of. The manager was fantastic & didn’t stop all day to make our celebration special.’

Then & Now. ⁣
1960’s to 2020⁣

Over the years the hotel has gone through multiple transformations to make it the beautiful building it is today. Built in the Edwardian era it was originally a home to Harry & Margaret Packford and their three sons until they developed it into a bed & breakfast in the early 1960’s. ⁣
⁣
Their youngest son Simon Packford took over the hotel in the 70’s which by that point had begun running Weddings & Events. When Simon met his wife Debra in 1983 following a blind date, Debra was able to bring her interior design skills to the hotel and they set about adding en suite bathrooms to all of the rooms as well as installing a conservatory that lead out from⁣
the main event room into the garden. A feature that still exists today. ⁣
⁣
In 2005, the hotel saw its most extreme makeover yet, when Debra undertook a major project to renovate and extend the building, creating a larger bar area, a fully serviced apartment & the beautiful Hardy Room which has hosted hundreds of Wedding Ceremonies & Events. ⁣

Throughout the years, care has always been taken to maintain the original features & charm of this beautifully appointed period building whilst creating a contemporary feel. ⁣

The deep mahogany wood furniture in this room is from & we’ve used our favourite paint on the walls.
