Surrounded by vineyards in the Languedoc village of Magalas, La Maison de Maître is the kind of house that feels immediately settled and lived in – a carefully restored period property with generous proportions, high ceilings, original detailing and a quieter, more understated sense of luxury.

Inside, the mood is light and relaxed, with large reception rooms, a contemporary kitchen and a conservatory that opens directly onto the garden and pool terrace. Outside, a 12-metre pool, shaded dining areas and mature gardens make it particularly well suited to slower summer stays with family or friends.

One of the more unusual details sits just beyond the main house: a separate eco-lodge tucked away in the garden, offering additional privacy for grandparents, older teenagers or couples travelling together who may appreciate their own space while remaining part of the wider stay.
