It’s Muker Show day! 🎪

This photo was taken on show day a couple of years ago, when I had the bright idea of walking to the other end of the dale and climbing Kisdon Hill to photograph the show from above.

Anyway, this was the result — the show reduced to a mere speck in the distance! 😂

Today’s forecast is for a very wet show, with plenty of rain, but I’m sure that won’t dampen the fun. That’s the beauty of Muker Show — whatever the weather, there’ll be plenty of smiles, laughter and good Yorkshire spirit. ☔️🐑

Have a brilliant show day!

**A Moody Morning in Swaledale**

A dark and brooding morning on Occupation Lane, Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales.

The old lane winds gently past the weathered barn, leading the eye down through the quiet meadows towards Kisdon Hill. In the distance, Muker rests beneath the slopes, tucked into the landscape as dark, laden clouds gather overhead.

There was something wonderfully atmospheric about the scene — a fleeting moment of stillness, shadow and soft northern light, with the promise of rain hanging in the air.

A little glimpse of Swaledale beneath a moody Yorkshire sky. 🌧️⛰️
