What does your role entail?
My role entails assisting our Lisbon operations and making sure our apartments are kept to the highest standards. This covers everything from overseeing our cleaning team, checking for any maintenance needs, setting up the apartments, and making sure our guests have the best experience possible. I’m also responsible for guest relations.

What do you love most about your a) job
Working in hospitality gives me a chance to meet people from around the world and that’s always exciting. And I love that I have the opportunity to give people a great experience in my beautiful city: Lisbon.

b) The city you live in
Lisbon offers a rich blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. There is beautiful architecture, delicious cuisine, the sun shines nearly 300 days of the year, we’re so close to the coast, and the people are really friendly. What’s not to love?

How does Mirabilis Apartments empower you to feel like you can be your authentic self at work?
I’m very privileged to be working at a company where I have no need to be pretend that I’m someone I’m not. In the past I had to hide that part of me. I didn’t feel comfortable to share my weekend plans with my partner, or exciting things that were happening in my personal life because I was afraid of how that would impact my work relations. Today, I can be my true self and I love that.

What advice would you give to other companies when it comes to diversity and inclusion?
Listen and have empathy. Active listening involves not only hearing what employees have to say but also genuinely understanding their perspectives, experiences, and needs. Create safe spaces and opportunities for employees to share their thoughts and concerns openly. Empathy is crucial in creating an inclusive work environment. It involves putting oneself in others' shoes, acknowledging their feelings and experiences, and responding with compassion and understanding.
