Before anyone thought to change the clocks, the sun was already keeping time.

William Willett, the namesake behind our bistro , built this very townhouse and campaigned for British Summer Time, to change the clocks.

Our Chelsea in Bloom installation, under this year’s theme ‘Out of This World’, brings it back to the beginning: a sundial and an armillary sphere, two of the world’s oldest timekeeping instruments, the former guided by the sun, the latter by tracking stars and planets. No daylight saving required. No manipulating the clocks, just watching the sun, moon and stars.
