Not ready for summer to end? Neither are we☀️
If you're planning a summer weekend in London or looking for inspiration before the season is over, we've rounded up some of our favourite ways to experience the city.
🚣 Picnic in Hyde Park: Pack a blanket and head to the Serpentine where you can hire a rowing boat from the boathouse if you want to make an afternoon of it.
🥐 Borough Market lunch: Stop by Olivier's Bakery and order the almond croissant; it's the one regulars keep coming back for (the live oil rosemary focaccia is a close second if you want something savoury).
🍸 Rooftop drinks: Head to Wagtail near Monument for 360° views over the Shard and City skyline. Stop by for golden hour to get the best experience.
🌅 Sunset by the Thames: Our favourite iconic photo spot. The pedestrian tunnel under Westminster Bridge opens right onto the river with Big Ben framed in the archway. Best at sunrise or just before sunset, before the crowds arrive.
📍Google Maps coordinates: 51.5006, -0.1199.
🎬 Open-air cinema: A few of our favourites include The Luna Cinema, which tours beautiful backdrops all summer, including Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens, Clapham Common and Westminster Abbey. Rooftop Cinema Club runs from the Bussey Building in Peckham and Roof East in Stratford. Plus, if you want something free, Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and Canary Wharf's Canada Square Park both run free outdoor screenings throughout summer.
Whether you're visiting for the weekend or enjoying a staycation, Radisson Blu London puts you within easy reach of some of the city's most iconic sights and hidden gems.
