And just like that… another season at Frith Lodge comes to an end. 🥾❤️
What a season it’s been.
We’ve welcomed walkers from near and far, shared countless cups of tea, served more breakfasts than I care to count, and heard some truly wonderful stories around the dining table. There have been new friendships, familiar faces, walking triumphs, the occasional blister crisis and plenty of laughter along the way.
And this year has felt particularly special because ‘Coast to Coast and Halfway Between’ finally made its way into the world. What started with a walk across England all those years ago has somehow become a book, and so many of the things that inspired it are still happening here at Frith Lodge every day, the people, the stories, the mishaps, the friendships and that wonderful sense of being part of something bigger than just a walking route.
Thank you to every single guest who stayed with us this season, whether you were completing the Coast to Coast, Pennine Way, Herriot Way, Pennine Journey, returning for another visit, or simply enjoying this wonderful part of Upper Swaledale, you’ve all added something to our year, and we’re incredibly grateful.
Now it’s time to put our feet up for a little while… before we get our own boots on and have some adventures of our own.
