Today is a day in my life, I will treasure until I close my eyes. It was an honour and privilege to lay the wreath on behalf of the Padraig Pearse Commerations Association at the Easter Rising 110th anniversary at the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin. It was a beautiful and humble day in Atha Cliatha. Beannachtai Cรกsca oraibh achan duine.

Original newspaper clipping from the Derry Journal 1906 of the poem my outstanding grandfather composed and read on Saint Patrick's Night 120 years ago welcoming Dr Douglas Hyde to St Brendan's Gaelic League club in New York City. It is nothing short of a disgrace how has recorded or even dared to respect the great men and women of the Gaelic League Revival Movement. This organisation needs a lesson on how they have forgotten totally great men like my grandfather B O Cianaigh, Tomas Ban O Concannon, Alice Milligan, Seumas MacManus, Ethna Carbery, Maud Gonne, J J Doyle, P T McGinley, Seamus O Creag, etc, etc, etc,.. ..Ireland is still a country that has told its truest history as poorly as the majority of Irish people speak teanga na hEireann. Time for fresh thinking and the cupla focla agus seachtaine na Gaeilge are also excuses. Teanga na hEireann amhrain agus abรบ I gcรณnaรญ โ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

I hope everyone had a nice Saint Patrick's Day despite the bad weather in Derry City. It is time to ask why the founder of our City Naomh Colmcille is almost forgotten in a city that our ancestors always celebrated Naomh Colmcille. But that is Derry for you, a City that has never respected its great literature or music heritage. We could have been UNESCO MUSIC CITY but our foolish Culture division within Council ignored in 2018 allowing Belfast to apply and claim our rightful Legacy from City of Culture 2013. We are led by fools and little political heads of zero vision in Derry and that is a fact. Well done Belfast for acting smarter and also as Music City securing the Fleadh Cheoil for the next two years. Derry's blindness is Belfast's massive gain. The Belfast Fleadh will be great. Time we respect Naomh Colmcille and have a public holiday on June 9th and have a summer day of music literature language and song.

Happy to see my book about the life of the great Donegal writer Seumas MacManus, break into the top 100 in USA historical biographies. A man so great that Mark Twain invited him to his New York home in 1904. A pioneer of the Ireland we know today. Mac was the Man. He lived most of his life in New York but returned to his beloved Donegal almost annually. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Story of my grandfather's huge devotion to saving the Irish language from boyhood to the grave. He was "An timire mรณr" all over Ulster and organiser of multiple Gaelic League branches in Donegal, Tyrone, Armagh, Down and Co Louth. He was the eminent Gael of that period and organiser of first Feiseanna Strabane and Dundalk and the first Irish Feiseanna of New York in 1906. This is all minuscule of his extraordinary life.
