Clean Coats
Thick Jumpers/ hoodies
Rucksack/duffle bags/bags for life
Sleeping bags
Yoga type mats
Gloves, scarves, socks, hats ( lots of socks) packets of new pants.
Flasks
Dog food coats & beds
Toiletries, shower gel, toothpaste new toothbrushes & hairbrushes
Sanitary products
Baby wipes & toilet rolls
Biscuits/chocolate bars
Hot water bottles

Over the past decade your genorosity has provided multiple drops of coats to Syria, 2 small Lorrie’s to the Ukraine from clothes to medical supplies & essential baby items, out a local family that had a house fire and lost everything and I’ve filled over 20 car loads of bags of kindness that I’ve made up and taken directly to people in need on the streets of Nottingham that I’ve personally distributed. ( with the help of Lucy) …( despite getting bus lane tickets from Nottingham City Council) !! Whilst I drive around at night looking for homeless people.
If you have supported the quizzes & various fundraising events over the years you have helped me buy top up items like flasks full of hot chocolate,pocket warmers, full hot water bottles.
That can then be refilled.
Local schools have also done collections for me and I’ve done assemblies on homelessness.

A life changing moment a decade ago made me realise homelessness is not by choice. Often overlooked and most often a mental breakdown of some sort. Help me to help those less fortunate than ourselves. 🙏🏻 Jo

These people don’t have the opportunity to get on a boat and go to another country and be looked after. Many are veterans, or been evicted suffered grief, loss or an injustice.
If you don’t have any items then consider a voucher for a coffee or food

A whole year has passed since we woke up to this.
Since we decided enough was enough . We should not flood. 1 in a 100 year risk we were told. Not annually. We cannot get insurance so all the damage, lost stock, damaged equipment, furnishings & decor are out of our personal savings. Every year. Every time it rains we can’t sleep or we are running round in the middle of the night dragging sandbags around or standing on top of the trash screen with a rake.
It’s been a living nightmare that unless you have to work for months for nothing to pay for the last flood you wouldn’t understand.
The impact of the flooding on us has been horrific affecting our health both mentally & physically as well as our finances.
Fortunately taking a stance and going public has meant the culvert has finally been cleared. Despite being told right up until the concrete was discovered in June that the culvert was clear! Unfortunately it took years of requesting and multiple floods and us to close our doors to get it done. Being closed for a year we still have monthly business overheads while we waited until the end of October for the risk to be removed. We are now in winter and the task of drying out and refurbishing lies ahead. We couldn’t have done it before whilst the concrete was still there.
It is our intention to refurbish & renovate the pub and reopen the village pub but bear with us drying out is neither cheap or quick.
Thank you for all the offers of help to get us back up and running when we are dry and ready to replaster, rewire, decorate etc
It’s certainly been a memorable year!

** Now Collecting** please drop off over next 7 days 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻For those of you asking I am still doing bags of kindness for the homeless. If you’re having a clearout after Christmas of coats, hats, gloves, bodywarmers, scarves, water bottles, socks, ski socks, toiletries, sanitary products, flasks ( particularly handy), sleeping bags, blankets, dog food, rucksacks.
What we consider everyday items are often a luxury, biscuits, fresh pillows & pillowcases. I will be going around the doorways in January.
The homeless get more help over Christmas but January, February are particularly hard as everything gets wet and they have nowhere to dry.
If you’re having a post Christmas clearout please bag it up and drop off at the pub after 10th January.
This is a heads up, I’ll do a reminder after Christmas. Rather than drop off to the Charity Shop I take it directly around the doorways of Nottingham.
I only want suitable items that would help a homeless person and save landfill.
Bags for life are also handy

9 Months ago we had to close our doors and try and keep the pub alive with No insurance. We are fighting for you too
