PLAB2 JOURNEY OVERVIEW

Many a time they choose cheaper accommodations provided by the local residents, such accommodations could be low priced, facilities deprived shared room in a corner of their usual residence or somewhere in odd areas. Choosing such cheap places can directly affect the candidates' overall performance and impact on the final outcome. There are a few academies which offer accommodations maintained by them or someone in their collaboration. We suggest you to look for accommodations which are closer to the academy you choose, either maintained by them or someone in their collaboration as they understand your needs.
Mannikins - In your OSCE you would be required to perform several procedures and clinical examinations on Mannikins. Those scenarios are very important and require you to practice on Mannikins several times before you appear in your real exam. It is important to find more about the academy you choose for, on whether they have all the Mannikins or not. Many of the famous names claim to have Mannikins which they essentially might have but most of them are not replaced on time and could be torn which could be distressing and damaging.
Simman (Talking Mannikin)- Simman is also called talking Mannikin which is a human like man-made patient with multiple simulating features. Simman stations could be stressful in real exam when you have not seen one and do not have first-hand experience with dealing acutely unwell patient who responds to your actions and could either improve if you treat him well or could deteriorate if you do not manage him skillfully. This is directly linked to your exposure and training provided by the academy you chose for. Many of the academies either do not have High-Fidelity Simman or they do not train the delegates to the level they need. Many of the academies even have dummies only and assume everything which essentially is not helpful as in the real exam you would get a real Simman who would interact with you. We suggest you to make sure that the academy you chose not only have a real Simman but also that they provide their delegates good training and hands-on experience rather than keeping them hidden in their showcases.
Mocks - Mocks are the pretend exam or a drill in the preparation of your real exam so that not only you get a taste of the exam stress but also find the common mistakes that you could make in your exam. Mocks are good way of finding your mistakes and working around them so that you do not repeat such mistakes in the real exam. Many of the academies do not have well-established Mock system which may be damaging for the delegates when they do not get a real idea on their performance as well as the glimpse of the real exam. While deciding to opt in for an academy, it is important that you find out how many mocks will be offered to you and whether or not the academy offers a real exam-like experience.
