The 2 sites are located in Cornwall, easily accessible to transport infrastructure and local village services. The ethos behind the design of the accommodation is that it should sit well within it’s landscape. Consequently, the layout of each site is determined first by the existing features available and is then set out to create the optimum environment for the accommodation to work within the la

ndscape. Quality takes preference to quantity. In this way, the accommodation becomes part of the setting rather than overpowering it. Quality also extends to the materials used within the construction of each lodge. Natural materials predominate with features such as; untreated timber exteriors, timber floor to ceiling windows & doors, oak plank floors, wool carpets, solid timber worktops, steel baths with timber feature frames and the use of plastics restricted to necessary electrical and plumbing fittings. Charteroak Estates’ ethos is based economic development that respects and enhances its own staff, its business associates and the communities in which they operate. They do this whilst ensuring that they minimise their impact on the environment and do all that is possible to safeguard it for future generations.
