Take endless outdoor mini-adventures, add friendly farm animals, a toasty indoor pool & stylish cottages. You've a pretty perfect family holiday. Welcome to Tredethick. We've been welcoming families (many again and again) to our farm for more than 25 years. We love seeing young children and toddlers make new friends and new discoveries - whether it's finding a freshly-laid egg or riding a velvet-n

osed pony. Seeing adults unwind and recharge is always rewarding too. That's because we provide ourselves on providing holidays that are as fun for little ones as they are relaxing for grown-ups.

For those with a December birthday in the family, you might be just like us, holding back a little until the candles are blown out and the cake is eaten.

So today feels right. The evergreen wreath is up at the farmhouse, the Christmas cake is decorated, our winter families have arrived, and the house has slipped into that gathered, settled feeling.

I tend to keep things marginally restrained earlier in the month, but this last stretch, when everything arrives at once, well… this is the part we love most.

Tredethick, just as it should be.

It’s been a lively little week in the goat world.
Percy, one of our Anglo-Nubian kids, managed to get into something he shouldn’t — either a stray feed packet or perhaps some berries blown in. We’re still not sure which.

The vet came out last night just to be safe and, thankfully, Percy was declared fit as a fiddle. This morning he was bright, nosing around and eating happily with the others.

At this time of year the whole herd moves from their paddocks and goat sheds into the winter barn. They’re not big fans of cold, wet weather, so they’re perfectly content tucked up here with deep straw, a well-stocked hay rack, a bit of goat mix and the odd willow branch to keep them entertained.

Never a dull moment… but all warm, cosy and well now.

There’s a tiny clip in Stories of Percy and fam having their breakfast this morning.

Tomorrow we close the gates for a few quiet weeks; time for the farm to rest and for all the small jobs that keep it beautiful.

Geoff’s deep cleaning the indoor pool and refilling the hot tub, Brigitte’s overseeing thorough cottage cleans, and John’s splitting homegrown logs for the fires and checking on our nursery of Christmas trees.

Farmer Jenny is Christmas shopping for our mini farmers and her mum is preparing to bake brownies for our December welcome trays. Meanwhile Liz Little Joe and T***s are plotting Christmas pony rides!

November pause or not, the animals are expecting breakfast at 9am sharp!

We reopen Friday 12 December with plenty of space for a little pre-Christmas family calm and outdoorsyness before the sparkle begins.

🌿 Some much-loved corners of the farm.
Parkland planting and windswept trees on the horizon. The bluebells in Lantivers field, the ‘vale of the cow parsley’ in Cornish. The wildflower dip below the wedding paddock, golden in summer.

Above Town, the winter bird food field, where skylarks and linnets flourish and deer and pheasants hide. The jackdaws nesting in the farmhouse chimney, and the rooks gathering in the skeleton branches of the old elm.

Everyone seems to find their own corner to return to.

Our latest ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google review this weekend made us smile and captures what we hope families feel when they visit.

“I honestly can’t fault this place. I was a little worried about taking our son away for his first holiday as there is so much to think about with a small person! However, Tredethick have thought of everything to make your stay easier.
My little boy was in complete paradise, with something to do around every corner.
We had the most magical break and made memories for life. We will be back!!”

Rooms ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Whether it’s sunny, drizzly or a deluge like today, there’s always something to enjoy here (take a look at Stories for what we did at animal feeding today). Puddle jumping, pony porridge making, our pristine indoor pool or a great coffee with soft play. Fun in all seasons, and a little bit of exceptional whatever the weather. 🌦🐑💛

Just three miles from the farm, the creekside village of Lerryn makes a lovely outing for little explorers. A buggy-friendly path winds through ancient Ethy Woods beside the estuary, where fallen leaves and sweet chestnuts scatter the ground. At low tide, you can cross the stepping stones and watch the reflections shift in the still water.

A quiet winter adventure close to home, full of space and calm for small feet.

✨ Cosy cottages, warm pools and space to breathe this winter at Tredethick.
