Louth is known as the capital of the Wolds. Why stay here ...
We, Doug and Louise Home are the proud owners of Happyford CL. This adult only site offers a choice of 1 grass and 5 hardstanding pitches and has the benefit of 10amp electric hook-ups. It boasts uninterrupted views of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, yet is only a 10-15 minute stroll from Louth town centre. Louth is known as the capit
al of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an historic market town on the Greenwich Meridian line, a small plaque in Eastgate marks the line. We are open all the year round for you to enjoy our campsite, the town and our surrounding area. Louth is acknowledged as one of the UK's foodie 'hot spots', with a wide range of pubs, restaurants, cafes and takeaways, all within walking distance of the CL site. Louth Market is held every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, which offers Lincolnshire's finest produce. St James' Church, which has the tallest parish spire in the country, is well worth a visit. Very friendly, knowledgeable guides are available at certain times of the day to give you a talk and tour of the church. Listen out for the Peregrin falcons which nest in the spire every year. For the walkers, within a 15 minute walk there is Hubbard's Hills, a superb area of natural parkland, a perfect place for walking dogs. There are many more walks in the area, whether you want a gentile stroll or something more energetic. There are many nearby cycle routes for the cycling enthusiast along quiet country roads and lanes. If you are a golfer, we have two courses in Louth; Louth Golf Club (which is within walking distance of the camp site) and Kenwick Park Golf Club, a 3 minute drive. For the motor racing enthusiast Cadwell Park is only 5 miles drive away, and as a result this is a very popular site for those attending Cadwell. The coast is a short drive away for walking or just relaxing in the sunshine. Every late October to December grey seals come to the Donna Nook National Nature Reserve (12 miles from Louth) to give birth to their pups near the sand dunes, a true wildlife spectacle. The Reserve is also known for its array of wildlife. We look forward to welcoming you and your pets to our site.
