🎣 A First Fishing Trip to Remember! 🎣

We've had some fantastic weather at Canal Farm this week, and one of our guests decided to try something completely new... fishing for the very first time!

After spending their first day learning the ropes and catching a handful of silverfish, they took some tips from their Husband and switched to sweetcorn on day two. What happened next was beyond anything they expected.....A few minutes later, they landed an incredible 13.6lb mirror carp!

Not bad for only their second day of fishing ever!

Stories like this are exactly why our guests love the lake. It's a peaceful place to learn, improve your skills, and, with a little luck, catch something special. Best of all, all fish are carefully returned to the water to be enjoyed another day.

A fantastic week of fishing at Canal Farm Cottages!

A big thank you to Barbara and Jim for sharing these photos from their recent stay in Kingfisher Cottage. The fishing certainly didn't disappoint, with an impressive 45 carp, 5 perch and a bream caught during the week.

Among the highlights were a stunning 18lb carp and a beautiful 12lb ghost carp. 🐟

It's always great to see guests enjoying the lake and making the most of some peaceful time by the water. Thanks for letting us share your catches!

If you're visiting Lincolnshire on 27th September, the Louth Food Festival is well worth a trip.

The town will be packed with amazing local food, drink and artisan stalls, creating a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day. It's a wonderful opportunity to discover local producers and enjoy everything this beautiful market town has to offer!

🌈 A lovely surprise over the lake this morning.

After a passing shower, a rainbow appeared across the water, reflected perfectly on the surface.

There’s something special about seeing the colours stretch across the sky while the lake sits calm beneath it. Sometimes the simplest views are the most memorable!

📸🐄 Getting all the cows to line up for a photo is usually easier said than done at Canal Farm Cottages! They normally scatter as soon as the camera appears, but this morning's beautiful sunshine seemed to bring out the models in them.

For once, they stood perfectly in line, posing as if they'd been practising all week! ☀️

It's mornings like these that remind us why we love life on the farm. Fresh air, blue skies, and a herd of cows ready for their close-up!!
